Holiday Table Decor

Good morning!  Today I'll show you another recycled project I created from finds around my house.  Being short on cash for new items to decorate for a party can be frustrating, but for me it's a challenge to get creative and see what I can come up with.  I used the following on the table for our buffet on Christmas Eve:

I found this little dandy when I moved in with Craig.  There are two of them and I'm guessing they were some type of retro TV trays.  We really had to par down and get rid of a lot when moving in together, but I thought these were so neat and just couldn't let them go.  I used Epsom Salt (which we had handy because one of our kitties has feline acne, another great use for the stuff), scrabble letters, pine cones a wind storm had blown my way and candles.

I painted the tips of the pine cones white and added in some "berries" I found at a local thrift store.

This can be adapted to whatever you have at your home, your style and the season.  Use a platter, charger or plate.  Throw in some moss instead of the white Epsom Salt for Spring or Easter along with little nests and eggs.  Colored sugars can be used for any party, spell out things with the scrabble pieces that remind you of a certain person if it's their Birthday or use sand for Summer time.  The possibilities are endless and limited to your imagination and creativity.
